Take a Chance
About
After my wife left our family last year, my focus has been entirely on my two daughters and keeping them stable and happy. Learning how to do a bun for ballet was one of the first things on the list. It’s pretty clear that I don’t have time for romance.
Things get complicated when I run into my younger daughter’s third grade teacher, Elise, at trivia night right before school begins. Not only does she give me a run for my money at the game, we spend hours talking, realizing our common love for sci-fi movies and books. Come on, how many women are able to keep up a stimulating conversation about the merits of the different Dune adaptations?
And at the end of the night…we kiss.
This was a terrible idea.
Because the last thing I want to do is start up a romantic relationship with my daughter’s teacher. I don’t need complications, and neither do my girls.
But keeping her at an arm’s length is harder than it seems.
Take a Chance is a single dad/teacher romantic comedy, with swoony kisses. It features some characters from the Canyon Cove Love Stories, but can be read as a standalone.
